Overview
The Testec TT-CC 990 is a professional-grade AC/DC current probe designed for precise measurement of both alternating and direct currents in high-frequency applications. Part of the TT-CC series, this probe delivers a bandwidth of DC to 1.5 MHz, making it ideal for analysing fast transient currents in power electronics, motor drives, and switch-mode power supplies.
With two switchable sensitivity ranges (1 V/A and 100 mV/A), the TT-CC 990 measures currents from 4 A to 40 A peak, ensuring versatility across low- and high-current circuits. Its split-core design allows non-invasive clamping onto conductors up to 10.3 mm in diameter, eliminating the need to break circuits during testing. The probe is CAT III 300 V / CAT II 600 V rated, providing robust protection in industrial environments.
Included with the probe are a BNC-to-BNC coaxial cable, a BNC-to-banana plug adapter, and a 9 V alkaline battery or AC power supply for extended use. Engineers will appreciate its 0.23 µs rise time and ±3% DC accuracy, enabling detailed analysis of current waveforms in demanding applications like inverter testing or transient load analysis.
As part of the TT-CC series, the 990 model stands out for its ultra-high bandwidth, outperforming competitors like the Hioki CT6846A (100 kHz) and Tektronix TCP0030A (120 MHz but lower current capacity). For engineers requiring reliable, high-frequency current measurements without compromising safety or precision, the TT-CC 990 is an indispensable tool.
