Compact Flash Board
Compact Flash Board
Overview
The Compact Flash Board is a compactly designed development board compatible with Compact Flash cards. It connects a development board to any compact flash memory card using IDC10 connectors on flat cables. The CompactFlash Board uses a parallel communication interface to provide fast data transfer between the CF memory card and input/output pins of the microcontroller provided on the development system. This CF board enable the user to create an interface to CF cards or PCMCIA cards in CompactFlash form. It provides complete PCMCIA-ATA functionality and compatibility.
Some prominent consumer electronics companies have also produced next-generation CF technology products for the consumer market. The onboard LED indicator denotes the power status. It is designed to use a 5V power supply only.
CF Technology
Based on CF technology, the Compact Flash Board offers new and expanded functionality to all of these applications while enabling smaller and lighter designs. With such features, the Compact Flash Board is an ideal solution for a range of applications, including fast data acquisition and storage of audio, video, images, etc.
Board Connections
The Compact Flash additional board is connected to the development system using IDC10 connectors CN1 and CN2 on flat cables. The CF1 connector is used to insert the CF memory card. The LED indicator LD1 indicates if the board is connected to a development system or not.
