The Promira SPI Analysis Level 1 Application (TP601510) turns a Total Phase Promira Serial Platform into a non-intrusive SPI protocol analyser that monitors single-I/O SPI at up to 24 MHz at 3.3 V on one chip select. Captured data streams directly to the PC and is decoded in Data Center, so long captures are limited by disk space, not a buffer. It is the entry licence for debugging SPI traffic between a host and a real peripheral.
Non-Intrusive SPI Capture to 24 MHz
The analyser watches SCLK, MOSI, MISO and the chip select without driving them, so the target's timing is unchanged. At 24 MHz it covers most sensor, ADC, display and EEPROM buses on embedded boards, and matches the SPI capture ceiling of the Beagle I2C/SPI while adding Gigabit Ethernet control.
Decode Real Traffic in Data Center
Data Center decodes each transaction on MOSI and MISO as it is captured, which shows whether the host sent the command you think it did and what the peripheral returned. Streaming to the PC keeps long sessions intact, so a rare framing error or a corrupt read can be caught on the run where it happens.
Upgrade to 40 MHz When You Need It
If the bus later moves above 24 MHz, SPI Analysis Level 2 raises the ceiling to 40 MHz. Total Phase does not list Level 1 as a prerequisite for Level 2, so a 40 MHz requirement can be met with Level 2 alone.
Software
Captures are viewed in Total Phase Data Center, which decodes the bus in real time and saves sessions for later review. The analysis applications need Promira firmware v2.00 or later, which is installed through the Promira admin interface.

Limitations
- This is a software licence only. It runs on the Promira Serial Platform (£1,040 ex VAT), which is sold separately and must be in place before the licence can be installed.
- Single I/O and one chip select. Dual and quad SPI traffic is not decoded.
- Monitor only. To drive the bus, add SPI Active Level 1.
- We ask for your Promira serial number at checkout, as printed on the label of the unit, because we need it to process the licence.

For an SPI protocol analyser up to 24 MHz on a Promira you already own, Level 1 is the lowest-cost route. If the bus runs faster, go straight to Level 2.
Typical Applications
Checking the command sequence a host MCU sends to an SPI flash during boot. Capturing ADC sample reads at 20 MHz to find a dropped word. Logging a display controller's SPI traffic to trace a corrupted frame.
SPI Analysis Level 1 suits firmware engineers debugging SPI drivers and hardware engineers verifying peripheral integration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this include the Promira hardware?
No. It is an application licence for a Promira Serial Platform you already own or order with it. The Promira Serial Platform is £1,040 ex VAT.
Can the analysis application drive the bus?
No. Analysis applications only monitor. To act as a master or slave, add the matching Active application to the same Promira.
Does it capture dual or quad SPI?
No. Total Phase specifies single I/O SPI on one chip select for both SPI Analysis levels.
What do I need to give you when I order?
Your Promira serial number, as printed on the unit's label. We need it to process the licence.
