Overview

Overview

The B&W Type 61 Outdoor Case protects sensitive electronics and instruments in harsh environments. Its ultra-high-impact ABS shell and IP67 ingress protection keep contents safe from dust and temporary immersion. An automatic pressure-equalisation valve supports air travel.

Capacity & Layout

Supplied with a pluckable (cubed) foam set, the 480 × 360 × 210 mm (internal) space can be customised for mixed test gear, meters and probes. External size is 510 × 420 × 230 mm. Two padlockable eyelets enable tamper resistance in the field.

Engineering Use

Designed for operating temperatures from −40 °C to +80 °C, the Type 61 suits outdoor commissioning, site acceptance testing and mobile labs. It carries a 30-year manufacturer warranty.

Series & Related Models

For different payload volumes, see other B&W Outdoor Cases: compact Type 60, mid-size Type 6000, or deep-lid Type 6500. Accessories such as the BackPack System (Type 5000/6000 series) and mesh lid organisers & panel frames support varied workflows.

Engineers should consider Type 61 when test assets demand robust IP67 protection, repeatable foam customisation, and proven survivability in transport and weather-exposed sites.

Proven Environmental Protection

IP67 sealing and pressure valve safeguard mixed electronic test kits against dust, rain and altitude changes during field work.

Reliable Transit Shock Control

ABS shell and pluckable foam stabilise instruments, helping preserve calibration between lab and site.

Lifecycle Value & Support

Durable construction with a 30-year warranty supports fleet standardisation and lower long-term ownership cost.
