The Beagle™USB 5000 v2 Ultimate is a great analyser tool that non-intrusively monitors the USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 and allows you to interact and analyse the data as and when it is captured on the bus. You do not have to wait for the data to be downloaded and parsed, just connect Beagle™ to the USB port of your computer and see the data transfer immediately.
Filter and quickly search for data of interest while the capture is still running. Utilize the real-time statistics function of the Data Center Software to view packets and errors on the bus.
The Beagle™USB 5000 v2 allows you to create flexible, state-based event triggers with a maximum of 8 independent states and 6 matches for each state for USB 2.0 captures. Match/Action triggering and filtering function allow you to trigger the capture, filter data, or set external triggers by matching data patterns, packet types, error types, and more.
Although the on-board buffer memory of 2GB of allows you to store a lot of data on the analyser, the actual amount of data that you can capture depends on the buffer of computer under analysis. As USB traffic is transmitted in bursts, the Beagle™ analyser easily catches up with USB traffic and frees the buffer memory for capturing more analysis data.
Some applications require multiple analysers for monitoring the data transfer across the system. For such cases you can simply take advantage of the advanced sync feature and create a multi-analyser scenario to measure the latency across the system with utmost precision, which was reviously impossible to attain.
This analyser comes with a Data Center Software that allows you to analyse data in real-time, while the capture is still running. This software also provides Class-level data decoding that makes understanding the USB data easier. Although the Data Center Software supports a number of USB classes, if you are using a class that is not specified in the list, you can save the USB configuration and apply decoding after capturing the data completely. The Data Center Software also allows you to easily share the data you captured with your colleagues all over the world.
The Beagle USB 5000 v2 standard analyzer can capture, decode, and debug low-level bus events and errors, as well as high-traffic data.
The Beagle USB 5000 v2 standard analyzer should help you determine to the cause of issues you described.

The Beagle USB 5000 v2 standard analyser captures, decodes and debugs low-level bus events and errors, as well as high-traffic data.
Low-level bus events include K/J chirps, Reset, Suspend, Resume, In/NAKs and SOF. On the USB 3.0 bus it also detects link training, LFPS polling and training sequences.
PHY errors are a special-case bus event and can be caused by electrical inconsistencies.
The analyser captures these low-level events:
It automatically handles data scrambling, spread spectrum clocking, polarity inversion and receiver detection. It detects protocol violations such as invalid PIDs, CRC errors, timeout conditions and frame sequence errors. The LTSSM graphical view shows USB 3.0 power state transitions in real time.
Multi-analyser synchronisation coordinates several Beagle analysers so you can make precise latency measurements across a USB system. You can monitor traffic at different points at the same time and track data flow through USB hubs, bridges or multi-port devices. This helps find bottlenecks and timing issues.
The 4GB on-board buffer, combined with continuous streaming to the analysis PC, allows captures of more than 25GB while keeping real-time performance. This suits long-term protocol compliance testing, finding intermittent errors and characterising a system over long periods. The analyser streams data during USB traffic bursts to manage buffer space, so the buffer is continually emptied during long captures.
LiveFilter filters captured data in real time by endpoint, device address, packet type, data pattern and error condition, without stopping the capture. LiveSearch finds specific hexadecimal patterns, ASCII text or protocol events within the captured data. Together they cut analysis time while keeping the full capture history for context.
Data Center gives true real-time analysis with LiveDisplay technology, so there's no wait for post-capture analysis. Data Center includes USB class decoders at no extra cost:
Data Center is a native 64-bit application.
The Beagle USB 5000 includes Total Phase's Data Center software at no extra cost, with real-time capture, display, filtering and searching, and it runs on Windows, Linux and macOS.
The Beagle USB 5000 is much faster thanks to its LiveDisplay technology. In Total Phase's example, a typical capture-download-parse analyser makes you wait nearly 2 minutes before you can view a 512MB USB 2.0 capture, while the Beagle USB 5000 displays results in less than 1 second. It uses an optimised USB 3.0 downlink and processes data in real time rather than in a batch after capture.
Yes, the Ultimate Edition captures and analyses USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and USB 2.0 High-Speed traffic simultaneously, in real time. This lets you see fallback behaviour, speed negotiation and cross-protocol interactions that single-protocol analysers can't. It detects and manages the different USB speeds automatically.
The Beagle USB 5000 has state-based triggering with up to 8 independent states, with 6 matches per state for USB 2.0 and 3 matches per stream per state for USB 3.0. You can build "if-then" trigger sequences based on data patterns, packet types, error conditions and bus events. The Match/Action system triggers on endpoint behaviour or protocol violations, while hardware filtering reduces the volume of captured data.
The Beagle USB 5000 works the same on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X through its native Data Center software. Most competing analysers are Windows-only, so your team can use whichever operating system they prefer. Data Center is the same on every platform, which makes collaboration easier and cuts training.
