Array Electronic Co., Ltd., based in Nanjing, China, specializes in manufacturing electronic products including programmable DC electronic loads, DC power supplies, and industrial radio remote controls. Their product range features various series of electronic loads (375X, 372X, 3715A, 371X), DC power supplies (366X, 367X, 364X), and multi-output power supplies. They are particularly known for their industrial radio remote control systems.
Array Electronic makes programmable DC electronic loads and programmable DC power supplies for bench, production and ATE use. An electronic load sinks current from a source under test in a controlled way, so you can characterise power supplies, batteries and converters without a bank of resistors; a programmable supply provides the stable, settable DC for the other side of the test. Both are controlled from the front panel or from a PC, and the larger models accept SCPI commands.
An electronic load replaces a real load with a programmable one: it absorbs power from the source under test, measures voltage and current, and holds whichever quantity you choose. The Array 372XA adds remote sense, so the load measures the voltage at the source's own terminals rather than at the end of the power leads, and the 372XA and 375X accept SCPI commands from a PC over RS-232, USB or GPIB.
The Array 372XA and 375X electronic loads offer four basic modes: constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR) and constant power (CP). In CC the load draws a set current whatever the input voltage; in CV it draws whatever current is needed to hold the source at a set voltage; in CR it behaves as a programmable resistor with current following Ohm's law; in CP it holds the product of voltage and current constant. The 3710A and 3711A offer CC, CR and CP, and the 3715A offers all four.
Transient (dynamic) mode switches the load between two levels to see how a source copes with a changing load. On the 372XA and 375X the transient modes are continuous, pulsed and toggled, with time settings from 10 microseconds and a maximum frequency of 50 kHz. On the 375X, list mode runs up to 50 steps with loop counts, and the maximum current slew rate is 10 to 22 A/us depending on model. On the 375XA the SCPI function command selects static, transient or list operation (FUNC STAT, FUNC TRAN, FUNC LIST).

A programmable DC power supply holds a set voltage (constant voltage, CV) until the load asks for more than the set current limit, then switches to constant current (CC) and lets the voltage fall. The 364XA series stores 10 settings and can be connected in series or parallel to extend voltage or current. The 367XA is a switch-mode design that adjusts continuously from 0 V, and the 3631A combines an isolated 6 V channel with a tracking pair of +/-25 V outputs for op-amp and balanced circuits. Pair a supply with an electronic load to check regulation, current limit and transient response of a design.
Remote sense on the 372x loads uses two terminals, SENSE+ and SENSE-, and compensates for the voltage drop in the power supply output and the input wiring. Use it when you test a low-voltage, high-current source, where lead resistance would otherwise make the measured voltage too low. The loads also protect themselves with over-current, over-voltage, over-power, over-temperature and reverse-polarity protection.
They are the four load modes: constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance and constant power. The Array 375X, 372XA and 3715A offer all four.
Remote sense measures the voltage at the source's terminals through separate SENSE+ and SENSE- leads, so the voltage drop in the power leads does not affect the reading. The 372XA provides it.
The 3710A (150 W) and 3711A (300 W) suit 360 V, 30 A bench work, the 3715A adds CV mode and SCPI, and the 375X covers 1,500 to 5,000 W at up to 240 V.
The 375X and 372XA support SCPI over RS-232, USB and GPIB. For the 364X and 371X instruments, use an adaptor such as the 3311, 3312 or 3315.
Yes. The 3313 RS-232C to RS-485 Converter supports multidrop RS-485 networks, with a unique address on each instrument.
