IR Distance Click Board
IR Distance Click Board
Overview
The IR Distance Click Board™ represents a sensor that incorporates a GP2Y0A60SZ0F distance measuring sensor unit. The sensor module is composed of an integrated PSD (position sensitive detector), an infrared LED and a signal processing circuit, measuring between 10 and 150 cm. The sensor remains uninfluenced by the reflectivity of the object such as environmental temperature and the operating duration. IR Distance Click Board™ outputs an analogue voltage corresponding to the distance of the object (through the MikroBUS AN pin). Since this device outputs the voltage corresponding to the detection distance, it can also be used as a proximity sensor. IR Distance Click Board™ use a 3.3V or a 5V power supply.
With these features, the IR Distance Click Board™ can be used in applications like touch-less switches, various energy-saving devices, robots, and many more.
IC/Module: GP2Y0A60SZ0F Distance Measuring Sensor Unit
Incorporating an integrated combination of PSD (positive sensitive detector), IR-LED (infrared emitting diode) and signal processing circuit, the GP2Y0A60SZ0F is a distance measuring sensor unit that outputs the voltage corresponding to the detection distance. This sensor unit is ideal for being used as a proximity sensor.
Functioning of IR Distance Click Board™
Unhindered by the reflectivity of the object that the user tries to measure owing to the use of triangulation method adopted, the IR Distance Click Board™ . in addition than robotics applications can be employed for creating touch-less switches (for a more complex touch-less interface see the Gesture board), and all sorts of energy-saving devices. The IR Distance Click Board™ sensor serves as a far sighted sensor with a measuring range from 10 to 100 cm, wherein it communicates distance to the target MCU through the mikroBUS AN pin, a voltage corresponding to the distance of the object, making it an efficient sensor.
