Xeltek is a company that manufactures and sells universal device programmers and adapters. Their main products are the SuperPro series of programmers, which can program a wide range of integrated circuits including EPROMs, microcontrollers, and PLDs. Xeltek offers both PC-connected and standalone programmers. Their website provides product information, software downloads, device support lists, and technical documentation for their programmers. Xeltek aims to provide high-quality programming solutions at affordable prices for electronics engineers and manufacturers.
Xeltek's SUPERPRO range is a family of USB universal device programmers that program memories, microcontrollers and programmable logic through 144 universal pin drivers. An engineer selects the chip in the PC software, fits the matching socket adaptor and programs, verifies and logs the device on the bench or on a production line, with stand-alone and in-system options for work away from the PC.
A SuperPro universal programmer connects to the PC over USB 2.0 and drives the chip through its pin drivers, with a socket adaptor to match the package. The SuperPro 6000E and SuperPro 6000 each provide 144 universal pin drivers, so large-pin-count devices need no separate pin expander, and a 48-pin DIP ZIF socket is built in. The software runs a standard sequence: select the device, load the data file, blank check, program, verify against the buffer, and optionally protect.
SuperPro hardware can be used in three ways: from the PC, stand-alone, or in-system on the target board. In PC mode the programmer is used for engineering and small production runs. In stand-alone mode the SuperPro 6000 and SuperPro 6000E read project files from a CompactFlash card and run without a PC. For chips that must stay on the board, the SuperPro IS01 programs in-system over interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, BDM, JTAG, CAN, RS232 and Microwire.
| Model | Role | Connection and modes | Distinguishing features |
|---|---|---|---|
| SuperPro 6000 | Universal programmer | USB 2.0, PC mode or stand-alone (CompactFlash) | 144 pin drivers, 48-pin DIP ZIF socket; see product page for speed |
| SuperPro 6000E | Universal programmer (ultra-fast) | USB 2.0, PC mode or stand-alone (CompactFlash) | 144 pin drivers, ARM9 processor, Vcc down to 1.2 V, over-current and over-voltage protection |
| SuperPro IS01 | In-system (ISP) programmer | USB 2.0 or stand-alone with LCD and keypad (SD card) | I2C, SPI, UART, BDM, JTAG, CAN, RS232, Microwire; adjustable I/O level 1.5 V to 4 V; ATE interface; JAM/SVF/STAPLE playback |
| SuperPro ISP Programming Adapter | ISP cable header | Connects a programmer to the target | Short cable for programming and reprogramming microcontrollers in the target system; check compatibility with your programmer model |
Socket adaptors adapt the programmer's 144 pin drivers to a specific chip package, so you buy one adaptor per package type, pin count and pitch. We stock these Xeltek adaptors:
| Adaptor | Package |
|---|---|
| SA001A | 20-pin PLCC |
| SA008A | 28-pin PLCC |
| SA0151T | 32-pin PLCC |
| SA244 | 44-pin PLCC |
| S414T | 68-pin PLCC |
| SA602 | 16-pin SOIC |
| CX1033 | 28-pin SOIC |
| SA404 | 28-pin SOP |
| SA626A | 34-pin SSOP |
| S625A | 64-pin TQFP |
| CX3043 | 100-pin QFP |
Xeltek also makes adaptors for other packages including TSOP and BGA. If your package is not listed, ask our engineers.
SuperPro programmers are controlled by Xeltek's Windows software, which handles device selection, file loading, batch sequences and production settings. Engineering use is an interactive session; production use stores the whole sequence (erase, blank check, program, verify, protect) in a project file that can run on the programmer in stand-alone mode.
A socket adaptor holds the chip off the board in a universal programmer, so each package type needs its own adaptor. In-system programming (ISP) writes to the chip while it stays soldered on the target board. The SuperPro 6000E and SuperPro 6000 are socket programmers, and the SuperPro IS01 is a dedicated ISP programmer.
Both are USB 2.0 universal programmers with 144 pin drivers, and both can run stand-alone from a CompactFlash card. Xeltek positions the SuperPro 6000E as the ultra-fast model, with an ARM9 processor and support for devices with Vcc as low as 1.2 V. Check the product page for the SuperPro 6000 for its exact specification.
Xeltek's current SuperPro 6100N family lists more than 100,000 devices from nearly 400 manufacturers, and the list grows with each software release. Support for a specific chip depends on the programmer model and software version, so send us the full part number and we will check it before you order.
Usually yes for packages other than DIP. The programmers include a 48-pin DIP ZIF socket, and Xeltek sells separate adaptors for PLCC, SOIC, SOP, TSOP, QFP, TQFP, BGA and other packages. Choose the adaptor by package, pin count and pitch, then confirm it against the chip datasheet.
Yes. The SuperPro 6000 and SuperPro 6000E store project files on a CompactFlash card and run in stand-alone mode, and the SuperPro IS01 has a built-in LCD and keypad with project files on an SD card. Project files are created and password protected in the PC software first.
Yes. SuperPro software includes an automatic serial number generator with an increment function, so each device in a production run can receive a unique number. Programming results are logged for traceability.
