DIESES PRODUKT IST NICHT FÜR DIE LIEFERUNG IN DIE USA VERFÜGBAR

Wichtig

Built on a completely new FPGA-based architecture, the Promira platform is the latest tool in Total Phase's established line of cost-effective and easy-to-use embedded solutions. Instantly add new features to your device, as they become available: program and receive data with new protocols, higher clock rates and real-time protocol analysis.

Each Promira platform includes a full software suite including powerful GUIs and APIs for a variety of applications.
Every Promira platform comes standard with integrated level-shifting, as well as Ethernet and USB control interfaces. The Promira platform is ready to accomplish any task you set it to.

Here are some typical applications of the PROMIRA:

Development Prototyping

The Promira can be configured as a bus master or slave. As a master, it can be used to connect to sensors, memory devices and other peripherals. As a slave, it can be used to emulate a serial device and respond to test commands sent by a master CPU.

Device Programming

The unit can be used to program EEPROM and Flash devices on a target board in the laboratory.

The Promira is also ideal for production programming. Using its inbuilt Ethernet interface, the unit can be controlled away from the production floor using its API. This gives greater flexibility than the usual USB interface.

Production Testing

In addition to being able to program a blank memory device in production, the Promira can also be used to perform regression tests on the programmed device, ensuring the quality of your manufactured device.

How Do I Buy a Promira?

The Promira serial platform can be configured to run a range of Applications. You simply choose which application, or applications you need when ordering. At least one application must be chosen. Other applications can be purchased when you need them. This makes the Prpmira a great investment as you only pay for applications that you need, saving you money! .

Currently, the following applications are available, with more being developed all the time: .

I2C Active - Level 1 Application

An essential I2C interface with programming speeds are twice as fast as the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter. Featuring support for the I2C fast mode plus specification, the Promira platform equipped with the I2C Active - Level 1 Application provides high speed I2C programming, high performance debugging, and superior emulation for your I2C protocol needs.

I2C Active - Level 2 Application

Features I2C programming speeds up to 3.4 MHz for Master and Slave. Featuring support for the I2C High Speed Mode specification, the Promira platform equipped with the I2C Active - Level 2 Application provides high speed I2C programming, high performance debugging, and superior emulation for your I2C protocol needs.

SPI Active - Level 1 Application

SPI programming speeds are over eight times faster than the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter. Supporting clock speeds of up to 12.5 MHz for master and 8 MHz for slave functionality, the PROMIRA platform equipped with the SPI Active - Level 1 Application provides fast programming, ultra-high performance debugging and superior emulation for your SPI protocol needs.

SPI Active - Level 2 Application

SPI programming speeds are even faster than the Level 1 application - supporting clock speeds of up to 40 MHz for master and 20 MHz for slave functionality, the Promira platform equipped with the SPI Active - Level 2 Application provides fast programming, ultra-high performance debugging and superior emulation for your SPI protocol needs.

SPI Active - Level 3 Application

SPI programming speeds are even faster - supporting clock speeds of up to 80 MHz for master and 20 MHz for slave functionality, the Promira platform equipped with the SPI Active - Level 3 Application provides fast programming, ultra-high performance debugging and superior emulation for your SPI protocol needs. The eSPI®Active Example files also show you how to use your SPI Active licensed Promira Serial Platform to act as a master for the eSPI®protocol.

eSPI®Analysis Application

Monitor the communication between a master and slave on accross the data lines, 5 channels (peripheral, virtual wire, OOB, Flash, Independent), 2 alert lines, 2 reset lines and more. The eSPI®Active Example files also show you how to use your SPI Active licensed Promira Serial Platform to act as a master for the eSPI®protocol.

Integrated Capabilities

Gigabit Ethernet and High-Speed USB connectivity to analysis PC included" Signaling voltage from 0.9 V- 3.3 V, 5V fault tolerant" Power your project with up to 200 mA supplemental power - 100 mA at 5 V, 100 mA available from 0.9 V- 3.3 V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • How do I update the PROMIRA firmware or install a new license?

Firmware and licenses are updated via the PROMIRA Update Utility or Control Center Serial software. During the process, the device is recognized as an external storage drive, where the firmware or license file is copied over. The device is then safely ejected and rebooted to complete the update

  • Can I add additional protocol options after purchase?

Yes, you can purchase and install additional PROMIRA application licenses (such as higher I2C/SPI levels or eSPI analysis) at any time. License keys are delivered electronically and can be installed by the user without returning the device

  • How is PROMIRA connected to the host system and what are its power requirements?

PROMIRA connects via USB 2.0 or Gigabit Ethernet for high-speed communication. It supports signalling voltages from 0.9V to 3.3V (5V tolerant) and can provide up to 200mA to power target devices, making it suitable for modern low-voltage designs

  • Can PROMIRA operate as both a master and a slave device?

Yes, PROMIRA can function as both master and slave for I2C and SPI protocols, providing versatility for a wide range of embedded system development and testing needs

  • What are the maximum supported I2C and SPI speeds?

PROMIRA supports I2C master and slave speeds up to 3.4MHz and SPI master speeds up to 80MHz, with SPI slave operation up to 20MHz

  • What operating systems does PROMIRA support?

The PROMIRA platform is compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, allowing flexibility across various development environments

  • Can I purchase additional options (levels) for PROMIRA at a later time? What is the procedure for that?

Yes, PROMIRA licence keys can be purchased at any time and installed by the user. At least one software licence needs to be purchased at the same time a PROMIRA is purchased.

Here is a video which explains how licence keys can be installed:
