The TC2030-CTX-STDC14 connects an STLINK-V3 debugger's 14-pin STDC14 connector to a 6-pad TC2030 footprint on your PCB, giving you SWD, SWO and reset for STM32 parts with no header fitted.
- Debugger end
- 14-pin 0.05″ (1.27 mm) ST STDC14
- Board end
- TC2030 footprint, 6 pads
- Interface
- SWD + SWO + nRESET
- Not carried
- Virtual COM port (pins 13, 14), JTDI
Connector to Tag-Connect Head
Pin Table
| TC2030 pad | Signal | STDC14 pin | Connect on your PCB to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | T_VCC | 3 | Target Vdd. Sets the debugger's I/O level; no series resistor |
| 2 | SWDIO / TMS | 4 | MCU SWDIO |
| 3 | NRST | 12 | MCU reset pin, active low |
| 4 | SWCLK / TCK | 6 | MCU SWCLK |
| 5 | GND | 5, 7 | Ground |
| 6 | SWO / TDO | 8 | MCU SWO, for trace output. Optional: leave unconnected if not used |
STDC14 pins 1 and 2 (reserved), 9, 10 (JTDI), 11 (GNDDetect, see above) and 13, 14 (virtual COM port RX and TX) are not carried, so the STLINK-V3's virtual COM port does not reach your board through this cable.
Pinout confirmed? The TC2030-CTX-STDC14 plugs straight into your debugger's STDC14 connector.

- Six pads, Ø0.79 mm (0.031″), on a 1.27 mm (0.050″) pitch in two rows of three. Seen from the component side with the single alignment hole on the left, the top row is pads 2, 4, 6 and the bottom row is 1, 3, 5.
- Legged cables need four extra latch holes; the no-legs (NL) footprint needs only the pads and alignment holes. Mechanical drawings (PDF): TC2030 legged footprint, Rev B and TC2030-NL no-legs footprint, Rev B.
- No solder paste on the pads. Keep other tracks at least 0.5 mm (0.020″) from any pad.
- Mark the footprint "do not fit" on your BOM, so nobody tries to buy a part for it.
Debuggers This Cable Fits
ST's STLINK-V3 family with the STDC14 connector, including the STLINK-V3SET, STLINK-V3MINI and STLINK-V3MINIE. For an ST-LINK/V2 with the 20-pin 0.1″ connector, use the ARM20-CTX adapter with a TC2030-IDC cable. For a debugger with the 10-pin 0.05″ Cortex connector, use the TC2030-CTX. Full list in our Tag-Connect cable guide.
Other Versions of This Cable
These cables have the same STDC14 connector and the same TC2030 head, so the diagram and pin table above apply to both. Tag-Connect makes no SOFT or LEMTA version. Differences are highlighted.

Questions
Does the TC2030-CTX-STDC14 Carry the STLINK-V3 Virtual COM Port?
No. STDC14 pins 13 and 14 (T_VCP_RX and T_VCP_TX) are not connected, so bring the UART out separately if you need it.
Is the Board Footprint the Same as for the TC2030-CTX?
Yes. The pad assignment is identical, so one TC2030 footprint works with an STLINK-V3 or any 10-pin Cortex debugger.
Which STDC14 Pin Carries Reset?
Pin 12, T_NRST, wired to TC2030 pad 3.
