Barometer Click Board
Barometer Click Board
The Barometer Click Board™ from MikroE is a high precision measurement add-on board that features the LPS25HB IC. The LPS25HB chip is a highly sensitive piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor that is capable of detecting as little as 0.01 hPa RMS in high-resolution mode. The measurement range is from 260 to 1260 hPa with 24-bit digital output. The Barometer Click Board™ can use either MikroBUS SPI or I2C communication interface, which is specified by soldering onboard jumpers in appropriate positions. It also has a multifunctional interrupt pin that can be configured in either of the two ways: as Data Ready or as a threshold trigger. The Barometer Click Board™ is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.
This board is highly suitable for adding barometer or altimeter functionality to any design, for example, altitude measurement for wearables, weather station equipment, enhancing GPS functionality, etc.
IC/Module: LPS25HB IC
LPS25HB IC aboard the Barometer Click Board™ is a piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor that works as a digital output barometer and communicates through I2C or SPI interface. This pressure sensor has a measurement range from 260 to 1260 hPa (a hectopascal is equal to a milibar), however, it can measure pressure within 0.01 hPA RMS in high resolution mode.
Configurable Interrupt Pin
The on-board LPS25HB chip features a configurable, multifunctional interrupt pin. It can either be configured as a Data Ready function, which can be used to send an interrupt whenever the pressure value changes, or as a threshold trigger wherein a signal is sent whenever a specified high or low pressure threshold is reached.
SMD Jumpers
The Barometer Click Board™ comprises of two sets of jumpers. The three jumpers set is for switching between SPI and I2C communication interfaces (soldered in I2C by default), and the I2C ADR jumper set is for specifying the I2C address.
