Overview
The Acute Technology TravelData TD3008E is a compact, PC-based digital pattern generator designed for stimulus generation during development and validation. It provides eight independent data output channels plus three event inputs, enabling synchronised, multi-channel testing with external triggers. Connected over USB 3.0, the TD3008E delivers up to 100 Mb/s per channel with an internal clock range from 1 Hz to 100 MHz. Per-channel pattern depth is 512 Kb, sufficient for typical serial bus and control sequences.
Engineers can generate standard bus traffic using built-in templates for protocols such as I²C, SPI, PWM, MIPI I3C and RFFE, PMBus, and counters, or import patterns from VCD/CSV files and previous captures. Output level is adjustable (0.9 Vpp to 4.5 Vpp) with Hi-Z control for safe connection to target hardware. The TD3008E is supplied with flying-lead cables and grippers for quick hookup and is supported on Windows 7/8/10/11.
The TD3008E sits within the TravelData TD3000 series alongside the TD3116B (16-channel) and TD3216B (16-channel with deeper memory). For complete digital debug, pair it with an Acute TravelLogic Logic Analyser or the TravelBus Protocol Analyser. If you need a portable, PC-integrated source of repeatable digital stimuli with protocol editors, the TD3008E is a practical choice for bench or field use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have a Question?
-
What complements this generator for a full workflow?
Pair with Acute TravelLogic or TravelBus from Debug Store for capture/decoding while TD3008E provides stimulus.
-
What else comes in the box?
Main unit, USB 3.0 cable, 18.5 cm lead cable, aux I/O cable and grippers for rapid connection.
-
Which OS does the software support?
Windows 7/8/10/11 (64-bit). USB 3.0 and 8–16 GB RAM recommended.
-
How does it compare with more expensive bench pattern generators?
High-end bench units offer higher channel counts and >400 Mb/s rates; TD3008E focuses on portable, protocol-aware stimulus with sufficient speed for mainstream embedded buses.
-
How are output levels handled?
Programmable 0.9–4.5 Vpp with Hi-Z control for safe connection to diverse logic families.
-
Does it support importing captured waveforms?
Yes—import from VCD/CSV and from Acute logic-analyser captures for stimulus-response testing.
-
Can I synchronise with my target clock?
Yes—there’s clock-in/clock-out plus three event inputs for triggers and handshakes.
-
How fast can it drive digital lines?
Up to 100 Mb/s per channel on the 8-channel TD3008E; the 16-channel models in the series reach 200 Mb/s.
-
What interfaces can the TD3008E generate?
I²C, SPI, PWM, counters and protocol families such as MIPI I3C/RFFE and PMBus via built-in editors.
