Overview

Overview

The Dediprog ISP-TC-16 is a SO16W (300 mil) test clip designed to connect a Dediprog SF100 in-system programmer to a soldered-down 16-pin SPI Flash device for on-board update or repair, when no ISP header is available. It supports wide-body SOIC-16 packages and includes an auxiliary lead for automatic system reset during programming.

Where It Fits In

Use ISP-TC-16 with the SF100 programmer. For SO8 packages, see the Dediprog ISP-TC-8 (SO8). If you’re working with Backup Boot Flash workflows, the companion BBF-TC-16 clip serves the BBF tool. Higher-speed programmers (e.g., SF600Plus-G2) use the EM-series clips.

Why Consider This Clip?

It enables non-invasive access to SPI Flash for development, field update, or service without desoldering, and it is part of a well-documented ecosystem (tools, cables, and application notes) that reduces integration risk. For mixed header footprints, pair with the ISP-UADP-127 universal adapter.

Fast Access Without Rework

Clip onto a soldered SO16W SPI Flash to read, verify, or update, avoiding desoldering and reballing time.

Known-Good Pinout With SF100

Works directly with the SF100 and Dediprog cables, reducing wiring mistakes and debug cycles.

Backed By Docs & Ecosystem

Clear guides, FAQs, and app notes support robust, repeatable in-circuit programming workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Any guidance on board states during in-circuit flashing?

Disable or reset the host so it doesn’t drive the SPI bus; ensure the programmer’s voltage and grounds are correct. Dediprog FAQs cover recommended cabling and power.

  • Is a clip better than a dedicated ZIF/bed-of-nails fixture?

Fixtures can be faster in production but are typically more expensive and require board changes. Clips are cost-effective for development, service, and low-volume updates.

  • Does the clip limit Single/Dual/Quad SPI modes?

The clip provides physical contact to pins; SPI mode support depends on the device and programmer configuration, not the clip itself. See Dediprog SF-series docs for mode support.

  • Is there a version for higher-speed SF600/SF600Plus-G2 programmers?

    Yes, use EM-series clips (e.g., EM-TC-16) with

  • Can I program on a live board? Any precautions?

Yes, ensure only one power source (board or programmer) and isolate conflicting loads; Dediprog’s ISP notes discuss power domain and bus contention best practices.

  • How does the reset lead help reliability?

Connecting the auxiliary lead to system reset allows the processor to release the SPI bus during programming, avoiding bus contention and failed verify cycles.

  • Which programmer is this clip for?

It’s designed for the Dediprog SF100 SPI NOR Flash Programmer.

  • What packages does ISP-TC-16 support?

    SO16W (300 mil) wide-body SOIC-16 SPI Flash packages.
