Hantek HT2018BX Automotive Battery Tester
Hantek HT2018BX Automotive Battery Tester
The Hantek HT2018BX Battery tester is designed for testing the condition of automotive lead-acid batteries.
The tester exercises the battery under the following conditions and measures the following results:
- The Starting Process - High Current Load
- The Charging Process
- Normal Load
The HT2018BX gives more accurate information about the battery than a simple battery tester as the battery voltage, capacity and international performance standards can all be configured.
The tester is compatible with 6V, 12V and 24V batteries and will give an indication of the life-condition of the battery under test.
Features
The Hantek HT2018BX is a compact battery tester with a built-in LCD and sturdy test leads, terminated with robust Aligator clips.
The case has been designed to withstand the knocks of the garage workshop and has an anti-slip finish which makes it easy to hold when being used.
The tester monitors the battery voltage and current under a range of conditions. The tester can also be used with the battery connected to the car, or stand-alone.
The Tester can function in four different test modes:
Battery Starting Mode
Before starting any tests, you need to tell the tester some information about the battery:
- Battery Voltage (6V, 12V or 24V)
- The maximum Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) of the battery
Charging System Test
Once the car has started, the tester will check that the battery is being charged, making it possible to determine if the car's charging system is functioning correctly. The battery voltage is displayed onscreen.
Normal Load Test
The tester will perform repeated load tests and monitor the battery voltage at each step to determine the ability of the battery to hold its charge.
Test Results
When the battery tests are complete, the State of Health (SOH) is displayed as a percentage. This figure gives a good indication of the condition of the battery. The internal resistance of the battery is also displayed. The estimated battery capacity is also displayed.
Protection Against Misuse
The HT2018BX has built-in protection against reverse polarity so there is no need to worry about the occasional mis-connection. Over-voltage protection is also built-in when connecting to batteries.
