Overview

The Hantek iDSO-1070A represents a new category of portable test instruments, combining traditional oscilloscope functionality with modern wireless connectivity. This 2-channel, 70MHz bandwidth instrument communicates via WiFi or USB with smartphones, tablets, and computers, transforming any mobile device into a powerful measurement platform.

Built within a rugged anodised aluminium case measuring just 190×100×25mm and weighing 0.5kg, the iDSO-1070A delivers laboratory-grade performance in an ultra-portable package. The integrated lithium battery provides 4 hours of continuous operation, whilst WiFi connectivity ensures complete galvanic isolation for safety in high-voltage applications.

This oscilloscope is part of Hantek's growing range of portable instruments. Related products include the Hantek 6022BE USB Oscilloscope for basic applications and the Hantek MSO-5202D Mixed Signal Oscilloscope for advanced debugging requirements.

Portable Debugging

Take oscilloscope measurements anywhere without bench space constraints or mains power requirements

Safety Isolation

WiFi connectivity provides complete galvanic isolation from control device for high-voltage circuit debugging

Multi-Device Flexibility

Single instrument works with existing smartphones, tablets, and computers rather than dedicated display hardware

Questions and Answers

10 questions
  • Can I Export Measurement Data and Waveforms?

Yes. You can save waveforms as images (BMP or JPG) or as data files (TXT, CSV, Excel .xls or Word .doc).

  • What Sampling Rates Are Available for Dual-Channel Operation?

250MSa/s with one channel, or 125MSa/s per channel with both channels in use. For signals near the 70MHz bandwidth limit, use one channel for the highest sample rate.

  • How Does This Compare to Traditional Bench Oscilloscopes?

It offers similar bandwidth to entry-level bench scopes in a portable package, with 8-bit resolution like most of them. The main trade-off is memory depth: 6K points, against millions of points on typical bench scopes. In return you get portability and wireless operation.

  • What Software Features Are Included for Signal Analysis?

    The Windows software includes:

    • 20 automatic measurements (12 voltage and 8 time parameters)
    • Math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
    • FFT spectrum analysis
    • Cursor measurements
    • Pass/fail testing
    • Recording and playback

The iOS and Android apps offer fewer functions.

  • Is the Hantek iDSO-1070A Suitable for Automotive Diagnostics?

Hantek does not market it for automotive work, but it can be used there. It runs on battery and connects wirelessly, and Hantek states that floating measurement is available, which avoids ground loops with mains-powered equipment. The 70MHz bandwidth handles most automotive signals. The input limit is still 35Vpk, so use a suitably rated probe. For dedicated automotive work, see the Hantek automotive oscilloscope range.

  • What Devices Can Control the Hantek iDSO-1070A Oscilloscope?

    It works with:

    • Windows PCs
    • Android phones and tablets (Android 4.0 or later)
    • iPhone and iPad

The Windows software has the full feature set. The iOS app has fewer functions (for example CSV export and two cursor types), and Hantek describes Android support as partial.

  • How Does WiFi Connectivity Work and Is It Secure for Measurements?

In direct mode the oscilloscope creates its own WiFi network, named on the label on the unit, and you connect to it from your device; no internet connection is needed. A router mode is also available. The wireless link means there is no cable to the control device, but the input limit stays at 35Vpk.

Answered by John LeggUpdated 9 Oct 2026
  • What Is the Maximum Voltage I Can Safely Measure?

The maximum input voltage at the scope input is 35Vpk (DC + AC peak). With a 10× probe that allows up to 350Vpk at the probe tip, provided the probe itself is rated for it. Always check the probe specifications match your measurement.

  • How Long Does the Battery Last and How Do I Charge It?

The built-in lithium battery gives about 4 hours of use. It charges over USB, from a computer or a 5V 1A USB adaptor.

Answered by John LeggUpdated 9 Oct 2026
  • What Probe Attenuation Settings Are Supported?

The software supports 1×, 10×, 100× and 1000× probe attenuation. Set the attenuation in the software to match your probe, or voltage readings will be wrong. The included probes are 1×/10× switchable.
