Overview
B&W Pluckable Foam Inserts offer a versatile, do-it-yourself protection system for every B&W International outdoor.case model. Constructed from closed-cell polyethylene with a medium density of 25 kg/m³, each set includes five layers: convoluted lid foam, three layers of pre-scored pick & pluck cubes, and a solid base layer.
The 12 mm cube grid allows engineers to create compartments for cameras, test instruments, electronics, and precision tools without cutting tools. Customise on the fly in the lab, workshop, or field and adjust depths across multiple layers for optimal fit.
Standard dark grey finish matches all B&W case interiors. Purchase as an upgrade to empty cases or as replacements for worn original foam in any B&W outdoor.case model.
Why Engineers Choose The Zupfschaum
Field-Ready Protection
Simplified Customisation
One Insert, Many Cases

Frequently Asked Questions
Have a Question?
-
How does this compare to CNC-cut custom foam?
Pick & pluck foam is more affordable and field-modifiable. CNC-cut foam offers exact fits but requires ordering and less flexibility.
-
Can I trim foam for non-B&W cases?
Yes. The base layer can be trimmed with a sharp knife to fit other cases with similar dimensions.
-
Will foam degrade over time?
High-grade polyethylene foam resists crumbling and retains elasticity across -30 °C to +80 °C without yellowing.
-
What tools are needed for customisation?
No tools required. Optional: chalk or pencil for marking and a ruler for precise layouts.
-
How many layers are included per case size?
All sets include five layers. Medium and large cases include extra pick & pluck layers matching the internal depth.
-
Does the foam resist chemicals and solvents?
Yes. Closed-cell foam resists oils, chemicals, and solvents encountered in labs and workshops.
-
Is the foam water-resistant?
The closed-cell polyethylene construction prevents moisture absorption, keeping equipment dry.
-
Can I reuse removed foam cubes?
Yes. Store spare cubes for future adjustments or additional padding needs.
-
How do I customise foam for different equipment sizes?
Place items on top layer, mark outline, then pluck out the pre-scored cubes by hand. Deeper cavities use additional cube layers.
-
Which B&W cases work with these foam inserts?
They fit all B&W International outdoor.case models (Types 500–6800). Layer counts adjust by case depth.
