WiFi 3 Click Board
WiFi 3 Click Board
Overview
The WiFi 3 Click Board™ from MikroE is a powerful communication add-on board with the ES8266 module that provides the easiest way to connect your devices to the internet. This WiFi module makes an ideal addition to a Click Board™ collection if the user wants to venture into IoT. WiFi3 Click Board™ features a combination of ESP8266 module with a system-on-chip.
The module further includes an integrated TCP/IP stack and supports WiFi Direct (p2p). The System on Chip (SoC) offers powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities for a WiFi module and offloads all networking functions from the microcontroller. Other than the standard MikroBUS socket, WiFi3 Click Board™ includes 6 additional GPIO pins for a user to connect and control external electronics. It also features a PCB trace antenna that works for the 2400-2483.5 MHz frequency band. WiFi 3 Click Board™ is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.
Connect anything from a simple LED, data logger, or some type of sensor or switch in a smart-home using this complete self-contained WiFi solution!.
The WiFi3 Click Board™ is a complete self-contained WiFi solution carrying the ESP8266 module with a system on a chip. The click is designed to run on a 3.3V power supply only. It communicates with the target board microcontroller through the mikroBUS™ RX, TX, CS and RST lines.
ESP8266 WiFi module
The module supports standard IEEE802.11 b/g/n agreement and has an integrated TCP/IP protocol stack.
It also integrates antenna switches, an RF balun, power amplifier, low noise receive amplifier, power management modes and more.
The Standby power consumption of < 1.0mW is ideally suited for IoT projects and devices that need long battery life.
Ideally suited for IoT applications
The WiFi3 Click Board™ is ideally suited for IoT applications. The System on Chip offloads all the networking functions from the MCU. You can integrate it with sensors and actuators through its GPIOs and connect your things to the internet with minimum development effort.
