AD8318 Demodulating Logarithmic Amplifier/ Controller
The AD8318 is a demodulating logarithmic detector. This amplifier processes an RF input signal for precisely converting it into an equivalent decibel-scaled output voltage. The AD8318 features a high level of logarithmic intercept stability at various temperature conditions and has a 10 Nano second response time. It has an in-built temperature sensor whose output is available through the TEMP OUT pin.
Board Connection
The RF Meter Click Board™ communicates with the target board MCU by making use of the mikroBUS SPI interface (CS, SCK, MISO pins), with additional TEMP OUT pin.
SMD jumper
The RF Meter Click Board™ comes equipped with an SMD jumper (zero Ω resistor) for setting the logic level either at 3.3V or at 5V.
Applications
The RF Meter Click Board™ proves highly useful in monitoring and measuring radio frequency levels. Since it ensures proper functioning of the applications and leak detection too, this board usually gets employed in testing equipment that includes RF transmitters or relays, in PA set point control and level monitoring, RSSI measurement in base stations, WLAN, WiMAX, and radars as well.
