RTC 5 Click Board
RTC 5 Click Board
Overview
The RTC 5 Click Board™ carries MCP79510, a real-time clock/calendar with an SPI interface (mikroBUS MISO, MOSI, SCK and CS pins); along with a programmable interrupt for system output.
The RTC5 Click Board™ is based on the MCP79510, a real-time clock/calendar with an SPI interface (mikroBUS MISO, MOSI, SCK and CS pins); along with a programmable interrupt for system output. The clock frequency is derived from an onboard 32.768KHz oscillator. For backup power, the RTC5 Click Board™ has a coin-cell Lithium polymer battery connector. The chip has 64-bytes of battery-backed SRAM and 1 kbit of EEPROM for storing data, along with 128 bits of protected space for storing a unique ID. The clock/calendar automatically compensates for leap years and months shorter than 31 days. The board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.
IC/Module: MCP79510 RTC
Equipped with advanced functionality, MCP79510 has digital trimming compensation for added accuracy, a timestamp to log power failures, a battery switchover designed for backup power, and three types of memory. It operates in a wide voltage and temperature range with low-power consumption.
For storing data, the RTC5 Click Board™ comes with a 64-byte battery-backed SRAM and 1 Kbit of on-board serial EEPROM memory. Along with them, a 128-bit protected space is available for a unique ID, which is available blank or pre-programmed with a MAC address.
Reliable: Even on a Large Time Scale
The RTC5 Click Board™ is equally reliable on a large time scale. The chip automatically adjusts for months with less than 31 days, including corrections for leap years. The clock/calendar works in either 24-hour or 12-hour format.
