I2C Isolator Click Board
I2C Isolator Click Board
Overview
The I2C Isolator Click Board™ carries ISO1540, a low-power, bidirectional isolator compatible with I2C interfaces. On the board, the Texas Instruments chip is connected to two sets of I2C pins, one on the mikroBUS connector (SDA, SCL), the other on the upper edge of the board (SCL2, SDL2).
IC/Module: ISO1540 Bidirectional Isolator
ISO1540 IC is an I2C-compatible, bidirectional isolator with low-power consumption. It has a silicon dioxide protective barrier that separates the logic input and output buffers. It blocks high voltages, isolate grounds, and prevent noise currents from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry, when used with isolated power supplies.
Two Sets of I2C Pins
The ISO1540 chip aboard Isolator Click Board™ is connected to two sets of I2C pins. The SDA, SCL pins on the mikroBUS connector and SCL2, SDL2 on the upper edge of the board.
TIs Capacitive Isolation technology
Isolator Click Board™ is based on TIs Capacitive Isolation technology, and thus is a better alternative to the common opto-coupler in terms of function, performance, size and power consumption.
