The SKU-049-02 PCI to PCIe Adapter is designed to expand a modern motherboard and add one x1 PCI bus to it. This adapter allows the connection of one standard x1 PCI Express add-in board to any motherboards standard 32-bit PCI connector.
This set comes complete with one 32-bit PCI Host Card, one x1 PCI Express adapter board, and one 304mm (12") Flex PCI Express cable. The 32-bit PCI Host Card is connected to the 32-bit PCI connector of the host computers motherboard. The PCI Express adapter board is connected to the PCI host card with the help of the Flex PCI Express cable and the expansion x1 PCI Express adapter board can be connected to the standard PCI Express connector on the PCI Express adapter board.
Mechanical
The versatile nature of the connection allows positioning of expansion x1 PCI Express add-in boards away from the 32-bit PCI connector on the motherboard inside the computer chassis. The PCI adapter comes with two mounting holes that allow the backplane to be mounted securely inside the computer chassis. This adapter system draws power from the motherboard of the host computer.

One of the best features of this adapter is that it supports Plug-and-Play operation and works right out of the box without any software installation on the computer. The surface-mounted LEDs on the 32-bit PCI Host Card indicate the PCI Express Link status along with the "PRESENT" status of the expansion x1 PCI Express add-in card.
