If you carry out electronics repair work on site or away from a mains power supply and do not feel comfortable about using a gas powered soldering iron then the modPRO MP-61 is for you.
The cordless iron is powered by three AA alkaline batteries (three high-power alkaline batteries are included) and can remain heated for up to 60 minutes (or up to 140 joints may be soldered) with one set of batteries.
Easy to use
The MP-61 is small and will fit in your pocket or ZeroPlus-Laptop case. There are no power cords to wrestle with and a protective cap is supplied to cover the tip whilst it cools down (and it cools down very fast!). Because only the tip is heated, the iron reaches full temperature in just 15 seconds making it very convenient to use and economical on battery power! .
Safe to use
Until now the only real alternative to the mains powered iron is to use a portable gas powered unit. Apart from the danger of carrying around gas canisters, they cannot be carried legally on aircraft. The MP-61 cordless iron solves this safety issue. When turned off the tip cools down rapidly and can be protected by fitting the safety cap which permits the flow of cold air across the tip yet keeps the cooling tip away from sensitive fingers! .
Long Life Tip
The MP-61 is fitted with a long life, iron plated and pre-tinned tip with a small 3mm pencil-point tip. The tip incorporates the heating element. Spare tips can also be purchased at any time and there is a discount if spare tips are ordered with the iron.
The modPRO MP-61 offers excellent value for money. We will even ship your iron to any location in the EU free of charge!.
