IrDA Board
IrDA Board
The IrDA Board is an accessory board that comes with an MCP2155 IrDA standard protocol stack controller supporting DCE applications. Designed to implement IrDA standard wireless connectivity, this driver/controller is capable of handling PLUS bit encoding/decoding functionality for Data Communication Equipment (DCE) applications in one low pin count device. The MCP2155 driver sits between the UART and infrared optical transceiver. Another module, the TFDU4101 infrared transceiver module, is provided to aid fast infrared data communication. Compliant with the latest IrDA physical layer standard, this diode can send and receive data in the scope of over 1m at a rate of up to 115.3 kbit/s. The DIP switches on-board enable users to configure which pins on the IDC10 interface are used for RX/TX and to enable or disable RTS, CTS, DTR, and DSR control lines. The clear silkscreen settings specify settings for it to be compatible with various development boards by MikroElektronika.
With such features, IrDA Board makes an ideal choice for wireless infrared communication with PC or other devices, remote controllers for home appliances, etc.
