The Compact Flash Board is a compactly designed development board designed to be compatible with CompactFlash cards. It is used to connect a development board to any compact flash memory card using IDC10 connectors provided on flat cables. The CompactFlash Board uses a parallel communication interface to provide fast data transfer between the CF memory card and input/output pins of the microcontroller provided on the development system. This CF board enable the user to create an interface to CF cards or PCMCIA cards in CompactFlash form. It provides complete PCMCIA-ATA functionality and compatibility.
Some prominent consumer electronics companies have also produced next-generation CF technology products for the consumer market. The onboard LED indicator denotes the power status. It is designed to use a 5V power supply only.
