Professional High Voltage Measurement for Multimeters
The Testec TT-HVP 40 is a precision-engineered high voltage passive probe designed specifically for safe measurement of extreme voltages using standard digital multimeters. This probe extends your multimeter's measurement capability to 40kV DC and 28kV AC RMS, making it indispensable for power supply testing, CRT television servicing, and industrial high voltage diagnostics.
Resistive Divider Technology
Built around a proven 1000:1 resistive divider circuit, the TT-HVP 40 uses high-precision 1000MΩ input resistance to minimise circuit loading whilst maintaining measurement accuracy. When connected to 10MΩ multimeters, the probe provides a 1000:1 division ratio. For 1MΩ input impedance instruments, the ratio becomes 2000:1, offering versatility across different measurement equipment.
Parameter | Value | Notes |
---|---|---|
Max DC Input | 40kV | ±5% accuracy (1-20kV), ±6% (20-40kV) |
Max AC Input | 28kV RMS | 0-300Hz, ±5% at 60Hz |
Input Resistance | 1000MΩ | Minimal circuit loading |
Temperature Coefficient | <200ppm/°C | Excellent thermal stability |
Safety Features
Safety is paramount in high voltage measurement. The TT-HVP 40 incorporates multiple protective features including CAT I overvoltage protection, reinforced insulation, and a mandatory grounding connection via the supplied earth clip. The probe body features robust environmental ratings, operating from 0°C to +50°C and withstanding humidity up to 80% at 40°C.
