The FT900Q chip comes preprogramed with a fast USB HID bootloader allowing the user to load code into it without demanding for an external programmer. The Click Board™er 2 for FT90x is featured with two rows of pads (26 pins each) and a Li-Polymer battery connector. The board also has a reset button and a pair of buttons and LEDs along with an ON/OFF switch. A 12 MHz crystal oscillator provides a reference frequency output to the clock multiplier PLL. A 32.7 kHz crystal oscillator provides a clock for the internal RTCC. The Click Board™er 2 for FT90x board has a LTC3586, a highly integrated power management and battery charger IC that also aids in battery charging over a USB connection.

The FT90x microcontrollers are equipped with an integrated USB module to implement USB communication functionality to the board.

FDTI FT900 Microcontroller

The Clicker 2 for FT90x comes with 32-bit FT32 Core high performance FT900Q microcontroller. With a camera parallel interface, it operates instructions at 100 MHz, has 256 kB of flash memory, 64 kB on-chip data memory, and 256 kB shadow program memory.

Power Supply

The Clicker 2 for FT90x can be connected to the power supply in two ways: Battery and USB. When using a Li-Polymer battery, the on-board battery charger circuit allows user to charge the battery over USB connection. The red LED diode denotes whether the battery is charging or not. When using the included Mini-B USB cable, the on-board voltage regulators provide the appropriate voltage levels to each element. The green LED diode denotes the presence of power supply.

Programming the Microcontroller

The user can program the microcontroller in different ways: Using USB HID mikroBootloader or Using external mikroProg for FT90x programmer and mikroProg Suite for FT90x software.
